In the design of the BMW Concept i4, electromobility meets aesthetics, dynamics and sustainability. At the same time, the modern and elegant exterior presents an exciting contrast to the extremely dynamic driving experience. The perfectly balanced Gran Coupé proportions form an authentic and self-confident appearance: a long wheelbase, a fastback-style roofline and short overhangs create a basic profile rich in athleticism and elegance. As a result, the BMW Concept i4 provides a truly electrifying look ahead to the BMW i4 as a series production vehicle and the electric age of the BMW Gran Coupé.
THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE BMW CONCEPT i4.
Innovation meets minimalism.
The spacious interior of the BMW Concept i4 is bright and radiates modern elegance. In the front section with the new Curved Display everything concentrates on the driver. Around the cockpit, the interior has a pared-back styling. The conscious restraint in the arrangement of controls creates a modern yet simultaneously luxurious ambience. Underpinning the high-class character of the interior are accent trims in warm gold-bronze blending to chrome and controls exclusively finished in glass crystal. The overall result is a clearly structured interior which creates a bright, modern and airy effect, which optimally expresses the calm and authority of the electric drive.
THE DRIVING DYNAMICS AND RANGE OF THE BMW CONCEPT i4.
Dynamic athlete with long-distance qualities.
Equipped with fifth generation BMW eDrive technology, the BMW Concept i4 achieves breathtaking driving performances. The electric motor specially developed for the BMW i4 generates a maximum output of up to 390 kW (530 hp), thus achieving the level of a V8 power unit in current BMW models with a combustion engine. Highly dynamically the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, with a top speed in excess of 200 km/h. Alongside its sporty genes, the BMW Concept i4 also possesses long-distance qualities: the efficient drive concept permits a range of up to 600 kilometres.
THE INNOVATIVE OPERATING SYSTEM OF THE BMW CONCEPT i4.
A new focus on the driver.
For the very first time, the BMW Concept i4 displays the iconic Curved Display, in which an unbroken screen grouping combines the presentation surfaces for information display and Control Display into a single unit angled towards the driver. The ergonomically optimised Curved Display, which is to be included in the future production versions for the BMW i4 and the BMW iNEXT, places the focus on the driver and facilitates touch control – and at the same time gives the cockpit a very modern look. The contents on the Curved Screen add a digital face to the electric age at BMW and offer a look ahead to the next generation of the BMW operating system to feature in vehicles as from 2021.

DESIGN OF THE BMW CONCEPT i4.
Electrifying aesthetics of a new generation.
The BMW Concept i4 marks the start of a new electric age for BMW Gran Coupés. The clear surface design, a fastback-style roofline and the gently sculptured form lend the vehicle an athletic and elegant appearance, which is further enhanced by the modern exterior colour shade of Frozen Light Copper. Precise contours accentuate the outstanding dynamic potential of the purely electric drive system. In addition, blue elements at the front, side and rear reference the BMW i origin of this future-oriented Gran Coupé. The cockpit of the BMW Concept i4 has a minimalist design and is consistently driver-oriented with the large Curved Display as the central presentation unit. At the same time, the light and airy design of the interior with its full-length Panorama glass roof optimally expresses the calm and authority of the electric drive.
